Greetings to All;

     The months are flying by as we venture into prime hurricane season once again. We were complaining about the cold weather we experienced and now very hot temperatures as we move into August. I know we all hope this isn’t some sign of what is ahead.

      We need to “Thank” Jimmie Murphy and his staff for hosting this past meeting and the opportunity to play golf at his facility. It is often difficult to host or even plan to attend the monthly meeting especially during these lean times we encounter.  I understand that many of us have a reduced staff and are required to be more “hands on” than in the past.  All I ask is if we can manage to attend the meeting and support our host even if we are unable to play golf it is a start.  We try to hold cost down compared to other chapters in order to survive. It is a difficult task as I heard stories from other chapters this weekend at the Crowfoot Open in Orlando.

     Hopefully we can see the value in “Talking with our Peers” once a month and brought up-to-date with an educational session at our chapter meeting. This leads us towards our next meeting on August 18 hosted by Frank O’Dell at Royal Oaks in Ocala.  We need to “call-in” to Ron Palsgrove at 352-307-2637 for RSVP lunch and or golf.  We plan to mail out the reminder cards soon and e-mail reminder notices prior to the meeting date.

      We have a couple of events in September as reminders, the FTGA Conference and Show September 15, thru September 17, 2010 in Orlando, and Superintendent/Pro Championship at Stone Creek Golf Club in Ocala on September 30, 2010 at 1:00 pm.

     “Thank You” again Jimmie Murphy for hosting this past meeting and we look forward to seeing most of you at Royal Oaks in August.
